The TEKTITE is designed primarily for water jumping at sites that do not require much or any forward speed. The use of a round parachute at these types of sites lessens the chances of a object strike due to an off heading opening. Other advantages over a ram-air canopy include minimal pack volume, faster drying and easier packing. Due to their symmetrical design and construction, round parachutes are also less susceptible to the effects of water induced damage such as tape and thread shrinkage. The TEKTITE is far more than a rehash of a 1970's design.
